Winterspring Dawn

Winterspring Dawn is a holiday celebrating celebrating the renewal of the world of Owai-6! It highlights Alurizan youth, who are still learning how to find where they truly belong.

On the ancient steppes of Zae'ka, the Korso people lived in true balance with the grasslands. Always on the move, early spring foraging was an unavoidable reality, one needed to prepare food for times when the weather would turn harsh. Roots and tubers from plants stripped down by the local Merini were brought back and roasted, turned into a bitter drink and long lasting preserves, rich in nutrients and excellent for staving off malnutrition.
These historical traditions persist and are shared with todays children with the intention of helping them grow up healthy!

Modern day Winterspring Dawn has adapted with the times, melding both new and old into a holliday everyone enjoys- for it brings families and friends together to remember memories of old, and to make new ones!

Winterspring Dawn is a month-long celebration, and so the assoicated prompts and activities continue throughout the entire month.

The spring whispers your name on the wind to join in the turn of the seasons. The warmth of the Winterspring Dawn flows over the hills to chase out the cold and invites a revelatory renewal to the homeland of the Korso.

Event Currency & Collectables

Floche

FLOCHE

Floche, a triangular ceramic token with a hole and rounded corners, the star of the show are the colourful embroidery threads wrapped around it, trimmed to manageable lengths and traded depending on the owner's hopes for the following year and vision of thier ideal future.

This coin can be exchanged for a variety of event specific items at the Bitters' Co-op shop or saved between events.

Collectables

Spend your floche wisely; each player can only craft one of each Dawn Collectable using the Blueprints available in Bitters' Co-op.

Each Winterspring Dawn Collectable is needed in order to trade them for a Redux Orb and Jewel Berry. This event allows you to collect both the turn-in prizes and a set for yourself!

Maybe in the future there'll be more items...✨

A special set of collectables are available during the event!

Crafting, & Foraging!

All players will be able to claim free weekly Commemorative Capsule at the Bitters' Co-op - open them for a chance at rare currency and more!! Additionally, users can use blueprints to craft additional Commemorative Capsules! Log in daily to forage and get all items needed to craft them.

Each Commemorative Capsule always contains:
Each Commemorative Capsule will also contain 1 of the following:

Crafting

The Crafting System and Blueprints allow you to assemble your foraged items into bigger, better items using ARC Lab's MAKR Machine. In each Commemorative Capsule you will find various items, such as limited-time Seasonal Produce, event currency, and everyone's favourite element: Astatine! Start crafting your Commemorative Capsule and see how luck rewards you!

Blueprints can be purchased the with event currency, Floche, in the Bitters' Co-op shop.

Cooking Pot

Cast from copper alloys for even heat distribution and covered in protective enamel, these vessels are designed to last a family a lifetime. The specifics of the shape vary based on culture and locale, but handles and a lid are a must, and most are big enough to feed a hungry, growing family. A sturdy Cooking Pot is necessary in order to craft several of the Collectables, and unlike other recipe ingredients, it is not single-use only!

You can purchase your own Cooking Pot at the Bitters' Co-op.

❗️ Before you start crafting! ❗️

Some recipes take multiple ingredient varieties, such as any produce item. Please make sure you have selected only the items you wish to use before you click 'craft' so you do not lose out on an item you want to hold on to! The crafting system will automatically select random items for these multi-item ingredient recipes, so you must double check to make sure it selects the ones you want to use and deselect the ones you do not want to use. We know this is a bummer, but it is an issue with the UI of the LoreKeeper Crafting extension and is completely out of our control.

We strongly recommend transferring any items you do not want to use in crafting to the inventory of a character, either a Xero or a Boolew, if you can! This will keep the items safe.

❗️ We will not be able to restore items for those who use them mistakenly, so please be careful when crafting. ❗️

Returning Seasonal Fruit

Available all month in the Bitters' Co-op!

Astera Thistle, Goodroop Fruit, and Nettaru Berry all make an appearance!

Users can purchase 1 of each fruit in the Bitters' Co-op. Additional fruits can be won at Jackpot Planet or found in Commemorative Capsules!

Event Foraging Location!
To help you find the items you'll need to craft Commemorative Capsules and other event items, we have a temporary Foraging location: Alluvial Delta!
This location only drops items needed for event crafting recipes and activities, as well as a rare chance for Astatine, Orbits and Comet Clusters.

Event Prompts

Participating in these limited-time prompts to gain Orbits, extra raffle tickets for our Mega Raffle, and other special prizes!

Found Family

Youth is an important aspect of the Winterspring Dawn. Spring is a sign of life renewed, as such, celebration of the young, in addition to celebration of when one was young, became a key theme during the festival.

Due to their creation in a lab, a Xero’s youth may look significantly different from those who are born in more traditional ways. In order to ensure they are properly developing, they are kept in ARC-supported housing and schools, and later adopted out when they are deemed old enough. ARC tries its best to place every Xero in the perfect home for them, but it is up to you to share your Xero’s story of their youth.

Write about your Xero's adoptive parent(s) and what their life was like growing up!

More Prompt Information

In Stitches

Before written history, the Korso would pass down tales through pictographic patterns, and the importance of this method of storytelling remains. While many species of aliens occupy the Alurizan Reserve, the traditions of the Korso shapes the culture these aliens all share. As such, aliens of all kinds will share stories of their youth with one another during this holiday.

Draw or create a  flag showing at least three (3) life events that your Xero went through, and then write a quick blurb abiut each event.
