Greenhouse Gifts
Draw or write about your Xero with a new trait and the fruit it comes from.
Details
Greenhouse gifts
Due to genetic engineering, Xeros can display a wide range of different mutations. They can even change these mutations at will: by eating tailor-made plants from the ARC Greenhouse, they are able to trigger their unique physiology to change in a controlled manner. This allows certain new traits to appear on any Xero. Does your Xero wish they could change any of their current mutations? Maybe they think they would look cooler with horns, or maybe they wish they had a prehensile tail to use like an extra hand! Any answer is valid, but what does your Xero think?

Inquirer’s Inquiry: Fashion Show
Get gussied up for Harbor's fashion week.
Details
ㅤ
RECEIVED MESSAGE
EDITION: 4.26
PATH: 1031 0216 1118
FROM: AREZ_INQUIRER
HARBOR: Harbor Fashion Week is in full swing. Alurizans from all over OWAI have made the trek into the fashion district to catch a glimpse of the action. For the next week, the most sought-after brands on the planet will show off this year's collection.
While the fashion show has a reputation for showing off odd outfits that are often impractical and usually outright uncomfortable, as we all saw when Rizzelle the Korso took that terrible fall when her shoe broke, the same designers will use this week as an opportunity to display garments they will have for sale. What's seen on the stage is purely performance art; if one takes a stroll down Jurupa Street, they'll see what true fasion is.
In the spirit of this event, the Inquirer is asking for its readers to submit their favorite outfit. Are you a lover of haute couture, or prioritize comfort over style?
Inquirer's Inquiry
INFORMATION
★ Don't have your own Xero yet? Don't worry, you can draw or write about Ziggy or Luca! You can read all about them on their profiles. You may also ask permission to use another member's Xero in our Discord.
PURPOSE
The point of the Inquirer Inquiry prompts are to provide more varied activity, similar to the previously used Skill Shuffle. These will not always be jokes, nor will they always be art oriented, and their time to complete will reflect the effort needed. As a note: the rewards offered will change each month. However, this prompt will never offer anything "exclusive" that cannot otherwise be earned.
REQUIREMENTS
The submissions to this prompt must show good effort and adhere to the following guidelines:
★ You can draw/write about/dress up as a Xero you own or another member's Xero (with permission), or if you do not own a Xero you may use our mascots: Ziggy or Luca for this prompt.
★ Minimum requirements may vary, please view each spoiler for each options' requirements, as they vary.
★ You may include multiple Xeros in a submission, but the rewards will not increase.
RESTRICTIONS
★ This prompt may only be submitted once per session. There will be a new prompt after the time period ends! Be sure to check the end date.
★ Submissions submitted must be new and created by you.
★ Click for Photo Instructions! ★
Take three different photos of yourself in outfits your Xero would wear, while you are also wearing a fursuit, therian mask, or paper mask of the Xero. You may also do a draw over of yourself if you please.
The photography option for this prompt has some stricter requirements in order to ensure the submissions are in-line with the effort of the drawing and writing options. Please be sure to read these instructions carefully:
★ You must show three (3) different outfits, with one (1) photo of each outfit. Each outfit must have at least 3 different garments and must all be reasonably different from each other.
- For example, changing out the shirt, jacket, and shoes (and keeping the pants) would be considered reasonably different. Adding or changing ONE accessory like bracelets, a hat, and changing shirts would not be considered reasonably different, but adding/changing multiple accessories would be. The outfits should be easily differentiable.
★ The only required costume item is the fursuit head/mask/draw over. "Poodling" or otherwise having skin showing is acceptable.
- You may wear a fullsuit, but the garment requirement is still applicable.
★ Photos must be your own, of you - so no moodboards, photo bashing, or photos of others in outfits may be used. We cannot guarantee that the rights to use the photos have been granted, nor can fully vet each image to ensure it’s not AI.
★ Your mask should be of a Xero, and not any other species. Additionally, if you are doing this prompt utilizing another user’s character, please be sure to have permission to use them.
- Your face should not be visible on your final submission.
I did this alone in my apartment with my phone on a timer. I used the built in photo correction and edited this together in MS Paint. It's far from perfect, but I wanted to use simple tools to show everyone can participate in this.
★ Click for Drawing Instructions! ★
Drawing for this prompt is a minimum colored full body. Shading, background, and other characters are welcome but not required. Since Xeros do not need to cover their full body, the minimum is one garment (shirt or pants), though they may be fully clothed if desired.
Drawing inspo:
- What would your Xero wear to work?
- Any special equipment that may be needed for a hobby they participate in.
- What would your Xero wear to a night out (or staying in)?
You are not limited to these ideas, but instead can use these as a jumping off point!
Requirements
★ Full Body artwork of your Xero, another user's Xero, Ziggy, or Luca
★ At least a shirt or pants. Shoes or a hat alone do not count
★ Click for Writing Instructions! ★
Writing for this prompt is a minimum of 750 words. Writing should be your Xero getting ready for something - whether this is a fancy event or just getting dressed for the day - and also describe what your Xero is wearing.
Writing inspo:
- What's the process for getting dressed for work like?
- Perhaps your Xero has been invited to an awards ceremony or gala.
- How does your Xero get ready for a date? Are they fancy or more casual?
You are not limited to these ideas, but instead can use these as a jumping off point!
Requirements
★ 750 words (or more) describing your Xero, another user's Xero, Ziggy, or Luca getting ready for a specific event - even if that event is doing nothing at all
★ A description of what your Xero is wearing should be included in your writing

INFORMATION
Go on a "real life" research expedition! Go to a local park, accredited zoo, or even just your backyard and look for interesting plants and animals.
STAY SAFE WHILE OUT AND ABOUT! Wear a mask if you will be in proximity to other people, and please only go to a zoo or aquarium if you feel safe doing so in your area. A squirrel or duck? Snap a picture! Identify each plant or animal you photograph, and write 1 fact about it! Must be at least 5 different specimens. Remember to wash your hands after your excursion!
BONUS: While you can do this prompt just with photos and writing, if you decide to also sketch the plants and animals, you will earn 200 bonus Prestige!

Why must the zoo or aquarium be "accredited"? Click here to learn more!
While I can't stop anyone from visiting a non-accredited establishment, I strongly urge you to research and understand why putting your money towards and supporting accredited zoos is important to animal welfare, public education, and conservation!

Animals and plants must be wild, you cannot use domestic animals such as dogs, cats, and livestock, or farm crops and other home-grown plants.
★ After your expedition, research the flora & fauna you photographed and do your best to correctly identify each one. Write its common name and scientific name, and one fact about it. You may compile your photos & info into a collage (example above) - or you can upload them all to a folder, and write the information in the comments section of the prompt when submitting it! Xero Resale INFORMATION
This is where you go to get your Xero's worth updated; either for bookkeeping or in preparation for selling your character! Once this prompt is filled out and approved, we will update your Xero's sale value on the site! You may then sell that Xero for the approved price!
Xeros cannot be sold above their listed sale value on the Masterlist, unless sold for a 'Proposed Value' through our Discord. See the pinned post in our #xero-marketplace channel for more information!
★ Gift art/trade art/personal art DOES NOT COUNT towards your Xero's sale value! Please do not submit art that you did not pay for. If there are pieces by a previous owner that have not been put in a value update before, please contact them to receive the proof of purchase to add them to your value update.
WHAT YOU NEED
★ All the new PAID art/writing/etc. that has not yet been accounted for in the Xero’s value
★ Receipts for each submitted piece of art (PayPal screenshots or DMs confirming payment, etc.)
★ A ToyHouse hosting for the Xero & art being submitted is preferred. If this is not possible, please keep your images saved on a dedicated hosting website like Sta.sh, imgur, dropbox, etc., for our own organizational purposes!
If you do not have a ToyHouse account but would like to make one, feel free to ask for an invite in our Discord!

FROM: ARC_LABORATORIES
Dear Prospective Adoptee,
This Letter of Agreement (“LOA”) is hereby entered into by and among ARC Laboratories (“ARC”) and Prospective Adoptee (“Alurizan”). Due to the fact that Experimental Rebuilt Organisms (“XEROs”) are highly protected persons as a result of their lab creation, risky XNA, and status as a species created from de-extinction, the following agreement must be fulfilled by Alurizan in order to be considered a candidate for adoption:
1. Orb Housing: ARC provides the growth apparatus for each XERO, however the Alurizan must provide the funds for necessary maintenance and upkeep required while the adopted XERO was in ARC’s care.
2. Nutrients: In order for a XERO to be adopted out to the Alurizan, proof of ability to provide meals must be provided. Additionally, proper attention towards their emotional needs must be met. As such, the Alurizan is required to provide a celebratory adoption treat upon execution of this agreement.
3. Proper Housing: Similar to Section 3 (above), the Alurizan must provide proper housing and furnishings for the adopted XERO. Address was provided and verified upon initial application, however proper furnishing must be provided upon execution of this agreement.
4. Incubation: Similar to section 1 (above), rental of incubation space must be collected from the Alurizan before XERO pick-up. Additionally, the Alurizan must personally clean out an used incubator, though this may be completed at a date later than that of the agreement.
5. Proof of Knowledge: Due to XEROs’ status as rebuilt organisms, certain knowledge over the species must be presented in order to be considered to be a guardian. Once completed, a certificate of completion will be provided, which must be presented upon execution of this agreement.
You look up at Ziggy from the pad after reviewing the contract. Honestly, it’s a bit hard to make out through the legalese. He gives you a sympathetic grin before saying,
“Let’s go over this in a more straightforward manner.”

PART 1: Orb Case
One of the key ingredients in the growth of a Xero is the "Object Retention Ball" or ORB for short, these provide nourishment to a embryotic xero and allow them to be monitered for healthy devlopment; without this, it would be impossible for Xeros to exist. The orb case is about the size of an orange, and is typicaly held in an incubator at ARC labs until the Xero is hatched.
The Orb Case can be purchased from the Arc Lab using Prestige:
Earning Prestige
There are a few different ways to earn Prestige. each section below has more detail on our Starter Guide:

As a reminder, prestige cannot be bought/sold for real money.
PART 2: Got'cha Cake
Everyone enjoys a celebration, and no party is complete without a treat! While the adoptive parent is required to cover the costs of incubating the Xero they adopt, Xeros are actually adopted out into homes once they've reached an appropriate age. Usually adopted out once they are past toddler age, though some may be ready to explore the wider world at different stages. Regardless, an important aspect of adopting is being able to both provide for them and cherish them, what better way to do that than a Ru Berry Cupcake?

Their eggs are small and develop quickly- in about one lunar cycle, from the time they are laid to the time they hatch. [ORB] Quest: Recipe Exchange
Nilla wants to trade extra recipe cards for baking ingredients.
Details
A piebald xero places a wooden sign in front of her bakery shop. The first knock of her mallet catches your attention as she taps the sign into the ground. You watch as the xero stands back to briefly admire her handiwork, then agrees with no one in particular, “Yep, that ought to do it.” Satisfied, Nilla wipes her paws on the apron tied around her waist.
You wonder what she’s up to. With all the sugary scents emanating from the cozy bakery shop, you hope she might be offering free cake pop samples- or cookies- or cupcakes even. Lost in thoughts of sweets, you wander close enough for the xero to notice.
She turns to nod a greeting in your direction. “Oh, hey there,” Nilla smiles warmly. Your eyes linger on the new sign and read, ”Recipe Exchange” along with a hastily scribbled list of available recipe cards. Next to the card list, a corresponding list of ingredients Nilla was seeking filled the right hand side of the sign.
Nilla explains, “I came across some extra recipes others might appreciate more- and they’re not all just for making cupcakes!” The baker chuckles at her own joke.
She leans forward as if letting you in on a secret, “I’m always looking for new flavors and ingredients to try in my cupcakes, so I figured an exchange would be a fun way to get everyone trying something new!” Tickled with her own creative idea, it’s obvious that the xero is hoping you might be the first to give a new craft a chance.
“If any recipe cards catch your eye, I’ll trade with you.”
