Inky’s Not-So-Simple Task

Today is a quiet day for Inky. Nothing hectic is happening, but he doesn’t mind that at all. That just means that he gets to spend his whole day at an alurizian library to research some historical material for his work at the ARC labs.

Originally, he meant to look for a specific piece of information. But naturally, he gets completely distracted by other books, mysterious documents, and all kinds of artifacts. He tries to stay focused on his task, but he can’t help himself when so many different sources of knowledge are all around him. That’s why he loves libraries so much. There are exciting novels from creative authors, but also stories based on real events. And even real, historical literature from all sorts of eras.

Later today, Inky plans on going to another one of his favorite places, the speakeasy cafe, to listen to some dramatic poetry reads he’s been interested in.

The librarian, who had previously been reading a book at her reception, notices him looking through countless materials. They assume that he might be struggling to find whatever it is he’s looking for.

"Excuse me, Inky?" they say, already knowing his name from the countless times he’s been here before. "Are you looking for something specific? Can I help you somehow?"

"Oh, I’m just browsing," he replies kindly, appreciating the offer. But then, all of a sudden, he remembers what he had come here for.

"Wait, on second thought, there was something I was searching for!"
